Meet the KJ2 Team
Kenneth “KJ” Johnston
CEO / Producer / Director
Started KJ2 Productions 13 Years ago. Kenneth received his BA from Xavier University and his MFA from Chapman University. As a writer and director with over fifteen years of experience in television and film production, Kenneth’s determination catapulted KJ2 Productions to one of the area’s leading production companies.
The passion that he possesses for his work has allowed Kenneth to cover projects in over fifty countries across six continents. While his passion is producing educational-based documentaries, his vision is to create content that makes people feel good about the world we live in. With that goal in mind, he has written and produced a number of spec projects that have won national and international awards.
Kevin Molohan
Producer / Director / Production Manager - 12 years experience Attended Art Institute of Sacramento - 5 Years with KJ2 Productions
Kevin was born, raised, and happily calls Sacramento his home. He found his passion for screenwriting fifteen years ago, which led him into film production three years later. He has made commercials, television shows, corporate videos, music videos, feature and short films in every genre and has performed multiple roles on set from director to grip. He prides himself on constantly striving to push the envelope of his creativity.
Cody Martin
Cinematographer - 9 years experience with multiple commercials and feature/short films - 7 years with KJ2 Productions
Cody is from the walnut orchards of Rio Oso, a small town thirty miles north of Sacramento, California. He is a dedicated cinematographer and lighting technician. Cody is always looking to push the limits of his own personal knowledge and performance in the craft of filmmaking.
Laura Grandados BarcO
Executive Assistant
Laura, hailing from the vibrant landscapes of Colombia, brings her adept organizational skills and communication abilities to the KJ 2 team. With a background in both long and short form audiovisual content, she has played a vital role in the development and production stages. Her experience includes contributions to projects for leading platforms such as Apple TV+ and Netflix. Laura finds joy in the video production process, particularly in our Sacramento setting, and looks forward to engaging with clients and offering her assistance at every opportunity.
Jeremy Bouie
Cinematographer
Growing up in Sacramento Ca, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my life. Luckily a camera fell into my hands and I fell in love with filmmaking at a young age. I studied the art of curating beautiful images so that I can tell meaningful stories and preserve precious memories. Through my work, I aim to capture the essence of every moment and create timeless visual narratives that resonate with my clients and my soul.
Tyler Ramson
Photographer/Social Media Manager
Tyler is a creative force as both the Social Media Manager and a skilled photographer. His passion for visual storytelling was ignited during his time at Sacramento State, where he earned his BA in Film Studies. With the dedication to crafting captivating narratives and using the power of digital platforms, Tyler consistently elevates projects to new heights.
Francisco De Acosta
Gaffer
Francisco Acosta is a dedicated gaffer with a passion for bringing light and creativity to the big screen. When he's not on set, you can find him immersed in the digital world, honing his skills on the computer. Family is his cornerstone, and he cherishes every moment spent with them. With a blend of technical expertise and a warm heart, Francisco illuminates both his professional and personal life.
Joseph Navarro
Editor
Born and raised in Sacramento, Joseph’s career has always been in video production. Majoring in Film, he has fulfilled roles both on and off the set ranging from Production Assistant to Sound to Director. He’s also worked in a variety of industries such as sports, weddings, news, creative agencies and even the beer industry, all while working in video in each of those jobs. Although he is the Senior Editor here at KJ 2 productions his main passion is being on set. Shooting ads, news promos, commercials, music videos, short films, and just capturing candid moments in his daily life, cinematography is really what fulfills his creative needs.
Gavin Viega
Cinematographer
Gavin Veiga sees video production and filmmaking as a way to open eyes, love others, and inspire people. Gavin has a deep appreciation for creating quality work and beautiful imagery. Gavin was born and raised in Sacramento, California and graduated from the Film Production program at California State University, Sacramento. Gavin keeps his V-mounts charged—and his spirit too—by camping, cooking, playing soccer, and growing in his faith!
Danielle Lowther
Project Manager
Originally from Alaska, Danielle’s path has taken her from Hawaii to Santa Cruz and eventually to Sacramento. She studied at San Francisco State University, beginning as a film major before earning a degree in Environmental Studies.Before joining KJ 2, Danielle spent over a decade managing compliance and operations at landfill and compost facilities, developing strong project management skills. She now channels that expertise into the dynamic, creative world of film production, where she loves helping ideas come to life.Outside of work, Danielle enjoys crafting, traveling, and exploring nature—always seeking new inspiration and adventure.
Dino Love
Photographer
With over 7 years of photography experience and being mainly self taught, Dino found his passion in photography when arriving in Sacramento, in 2018. Born and raised in Washington, DC, being a photographer was not on his to do list. By the grace of God, his passion for photography has lead him to photography a variety of different events from weddings, to baby showers, and corporate events, all throughout the Sacramento region. He hopes to be able to showcase all the amazing things that are happening in the Sacramento area.
Brittney Sugar
Hair, Make-up, Grip
Born and raised in Sacramento, Brittney “Sugar” grew up with a passion for theater and film. She gained her Bachelor’s in filmmaking in Los Angeles and instantly started working on Studio Lots in TV and Film. After 10 years in the industry, she has worked her way from Production Assistant to “The MacGyver of Film Sets!” She has and still works in many departments from Hair & Make up, Sound, Grip, Art Department, and Stunts. She’s even part of the SAG Union. Whatever the job may call for she is experienced and ready to fill that need. Her passion and love for what she does shows in her excitement on any set, and she’s happy to be back in her hometown of Sacramento doing what she loves.
