Meet the KJ2 Team
Kenneth “KJ” Johnston
CEO / Producer / Director
Started KJ2 Productions 13 Years ago. Kenneth received his BA from Xavier University and his MFA from Chapman University. As a writer and director with over fifteen years of experience in television and film production, Kenneth’s determination catapulted KJ2 Productions to one of the area’s leading production companies.
The passion that he possesses for his work has allowed Kenneth to cover projects in over fifty countries across six continents. While his passion is producing educational-based documentaries, his vision is to create content that makes people feel good about the world we live in. With that goal in mind, he has written and produced a number of spec projects that have won national and international awards.
Kevin Molohan
Producer / Director / Production Manager - 12 years experience Attended Art Institute of Sacramento - 5 Years with KJ2 Productions
Kevin was born, raised, and happily calls Sacramento his home. He found his passion for screenwriting fifteen years ago, which led him into film production three years later. He has made commercials, television shows, corporate videos, music videos, feature and short films in every genre and has performed multiple roles on set from director to grip. He prides himself on constantly striving to push the envelope of his creativity.
Cody Martin
Cinematographer - 9 years experience with multiple commercials and feature/short films - 7 years with KJ2 Productions
Cody is from the walnut orchards of Rio Oso, a small town thirty miles north of Sacramento, California. He is a dedicated cinematographer and lighting technician. Cody is always looking to push the limits of his own personal knowledge and performance in the craft of filmmaking.
Laura Grandados BarcO
Executive Assistant
Laura, hailing from the vibrant landscapes of Colombia, brings her adept organizational skills and communication abilities to the KJ 2 team. With a background in both long and short form audiovisual content, she has played a vital role in the development and production stages. Her experience includes contributions to projects for leading platforms such as Apple TV+ and Netflix. Laura finds joy in the video production process, particularly in our Sacramento setting, and looks forward to engaging with clients and offering her assistance at every opportunity.
Maddy Purves
Lead Editor
Maddy grew up in Davis, California before studying film at BYU, where she shot, produced, and edited her first feature documentary–outside of the school’s program. A few more films and a couple tattoos later, Maddy joined the KJ2 Productions team eager to bring her flavor of filmmaking back home to Sacramento.
Jeremy Boule

Growing up in Sacramento Ca, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my life. Luckily a camera fell into my hands and I fell in love with filmmaking at a young age. I studied the art of curating beautiful images so that I can tell meaningful stories and preserve precious memories. Through my work, I aim to capture the essence of every moment and create timeless visual narratives that resonate with my clients and my soul.
Louis Bryant
Cinematographer/Photographer
An international photographer and filmmaker who developed as a self-taught photographer. Louis refined his talent through immersive travel expeditions (visiting over 15 countries by contract), collaborations with artists, and work with newspapers and publishers. All of which have made a lasting impact on his perspective. He has led many immersive photo workshops and even spent 11 weeks in the rural town of Bolgatanga, Ghana filming an immersive documentary. Alongside his partner AmaYah Harrison, Louis directed and filmed a visual EP, 19SeventyFree, which was honored at the Tribeca Film Festival and premiered on Juneteenth 2021. Aside from having his camera with him 90% of the time, Louis loves thrill seeking adventures, dangerous heights, long motorcycle trips, backpacking and wandering the world. Through these excursions he’s connected with individuals within villages and townships.

Passionate about the art of storytelling through film, Julia is a Sacramento local who graduated from Sacramento State University with a BA in Film in 2023. With a focused expertise in editing, she has honed her skills over the past six years, delving deep into the intricacies of crafting compelling narratives through visual media.
Tyler Ramson
Photographer/Social Media Manager
Tyler is a creative force as both the Social Media Manager and a skilled photographer. His passion for visual storytelling was ignited during his time at Sacramento State, where he earned his BA in Film Studies. With the dedication to crafting captivating narratives and using the power of digital platforms, Tyler consistently elevates projects to new heights.
